One Day Reboot

Challenge yourself to REBOOT one day each week!

A regular practice of fasting can improve digestive efficiency, increase mental clarity, increase energy, remove toxins and give a general feeling of well being.  A true fast means drinking only water for a 24 hour period.  I have found that I still get the health benefits listed above, and am  more likely to commit to a weekly “REBOOT” rather than a 24 hour period drinking only water!  Resetting on a Monday or Tuesday each week will refresh your body and liven your spirit!

Recently, I re-started the SOUP CLEANSE from the SPLENDID SPOON company.  For the entire day I eat healthy soups, like Cauliflower Coconut, Carrot Turmeric Elixir and Pumpkin Pear Hempseed. My day is low in total calories but packed with powerful nutrients.  www.splendidspoon.com

Another option is to JUICE fruits and vegetables for a day.  This is a One Day Reset I share from the MindBodyGreen site:

  1. Breakfast: 2¼ cups Green Wake-Up (see recipe below) and one handful of raw nuts
  2. Midmorning: about 1 cup almond milk
  3. Lunch: 2¼ cups Kale Foundation (see recipe below) and one handful of raw nuts
  4. Mid afternoon: about 1 cup almond milk
  5. Late Afternoon: 2¼ cups Kale Foundation and one handful of raw nuts
  6. Evening: 2¼ cups Green Wake-Up and one handful of raw nuts
  7. Later: 2¼ cups Kale Foundation

Green Wake Up Drink Recipe

  • 3 medium-size cucumbers, unpeeled
  • a handful of spinach, stalks removed
  • 1 green apple
  • a handful of parsley
  • 1 lemon (squeezed or juiced)

Always juice the most liquid vegetables first.  Start by adding half the cucumbers, then add the spinach, the rest of the cucumbers, then the apple, followed by parsley and then lemon.  Drink immediately or pour into an airtight container and keep refrigerated for up to 12 hours.

Kale Foundation

  • 1 medium cucumber, unpeeled
  • 2 handfuls of kale (stalks removed)
  • 1 apple, unpeeled
  • a small handful of mint
  • 1 lemon (squeezed or juiced)

Start by juicing the cucumber and kale together, and then add the apple, mint and lemon. Drink immediately or store in airtight container for up to 12 hours.
